Conservatory Home Cinema – Hockley
This is a stunning Home Cinema installation that our client was looking to install in their conservatory.
As with virtually all conservatories, the room was very bright, which always presents certain challenges – so an Epson Projector was chosen because of its high lumens output combined with excellent picture quality. In addition, an 8ft wide electric Grandview dropdown Cinema screen was specified, resulting in very high quality images.
A high-end Arcam receiver and a Blu-Ray player were selected for the Home Cinema electronics to deliver a full cinema-quality sound combined with superb video performance. SpeakerCraft in-ceiling speakers were chosen for their performance, style and discreteness where placing options are inevitably limited. The best speaker locations were identified and the speakers installed. The powered drop-down screen was also carefully installed and calibrated.
A Control4 Smart Home automation system and lighting were used for complete control and ease of use. Once completed, the client only has to select from the ‘watch’ list of sources and the system then turns on all the necessary components – the screen drops down, the projector turns on and the lights slowly turn off. The client can also easily switch between his plasma TV (for daylight viewing) and the projector. The system is VERY intuitive and easy to navigate.
A conservatory home cinema is generally considered difficult to achieve but the end result with this system is an awesome, neat and elegant cinema room which the whole family enjoys.
